I'm a beginner. I hesitate to use the word "cartoonist" as I have no claim to such a title, but my interest is in cartoons, the history of cartoons, and learning to draw cartoons well. I love the retro cartoons, Hanna-Barbera, Looney Tunes--loads of stuff really. I miss Calvin and Hobbes, and rarely read the comics in the newspapers today. Get Fuzzy was pretty brilliant when I paid attention.
